Achieving low-temperature sintering of silicon carbide products can significantly reduce energy consumption, markedly lower production costs, and promote the industrialization of silicon carbide products.
Silicon carbide products are increasingly used in fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, automotive, machinery, and aerospace. There is an urgent need to continuously improve manufacturing technology and reduce production costs while enhancing the performance of silicon carbide products. Achieving low-temperature sintering of silicon carbide products can significantly reduce energy consumption and production costs, promoting the industrialization of silicon carbide products. Compared with other structural ceramics, silicon carbide raw materials are abundant and have various preparation methods, making them adaptable to different operating conditions. It is the only engineering structural ceramic besides alumina that can potentially achieve industrial-scale production. Major ceramic manufacturers worldwide attach great importance to the research and application development of silicon carbide materials. China is a major producer of silicon carbide raw materials and has extensive industrial and high-tech demands. Additionally, since the demand for silicon carbide products covers high, medium, and low-grade materials, it is conducive to forming an industrial scale. Therefore, as an important breakthrough to promote the industrialization of structural ceramics, we should actively engage in the research, development, and promotion of silicon carbide materials to quickly establish China's own silicon carbide industry.
